Binary Diagnostic Guidelines

To help us reproduce and patch archive corruption or decoding errors, please include the following diagnostic parameters with your report:

1. BA2 Header Version & Magic

Specify whether the archive begins with BTDX magic bytes and report the uint32 version at offset 4 (e.g., 0x01 for legacy v1, 0x07 for Next-Gen v7, or 0x08 for v8).

2. Decompression Stream Context

Indicate if the anomaly occurs during GNRL Deflate uncompressed size validation or during DX10 texture chunk table parsing (148-byte synthesized DDS container generation).

3. NIF Block Hierarchy & Index

For mesh audit failures, report the block index and unhandled block type string (e.g. BSLightingShaderProperty, BSTriShape, NiNode).

4. Browser Console & Memory Allocation

Copy the full stack trace from your browser developer console, including WebAssembly memory bounds status and browser engine version.

Frequently Asked Questions

What data should I provide when reporting a BA2 extraction bug?

Please report the archive header version (v1 vs Next-Gen v7/v8), total archive byte size, whether it is a GNRL or DX10 texture archive, and the browser console error stack trace.

Are my game files uploaded when using the toolkit or reporting bugs?

Never. All archive parsing, header fixing, texture slicing, and mesh auditing executes 100% locally in your browser WebAssembly memory buffers. No archive bytes leave your machine.

How quickly does the engineering team respond to technical issues?

We review ops@f76.world transmissions regularly and aim to triage reproducible binary parser bug reports as maintainer bandwidth permits.

Can I automate batch extraction using headless CLI tools?

Yes, community developers can automate extraction pipelines using offline scripts compliant with the open f76-repo-spec-v1 manifest specification.
