# About F76.WORLD | Creation Engine Architecture & Modding Infrastructure

F76.WORLD is the decentralized, authoritative portal and engineering toolkit for Fallout 76 players and mod developers, maintained by owlyyy industries.

## 1. Why We Built F76.WORLD: Overcoming the Skyline Valley & Patch 70 Shifts
Extracting Fallout 76 BA2 archives after the Skyline Valley and Patch 70 updates broke legacy tools due to the Creation Engine shifting to the v7 and v8 BTDX header format. Old community extractors threw memory allocation errors, crashed to desktop, or generated corrupted DirectX 10 textures. Mod authors lost weeks of development work attempting to hex-edit archive headers just to inspect a single NIF geometry mesh.

F76.WORLD reverse-engineered the Next-Gen BA2 format and built a browser-native WebAssembly core that parses Gamebryo 20.2.0.7 / BS Version 155 archives directly in your browser with zero executables and zero file uploads.

## 2. Technical Architecture Matrix
- **BTDX Archive Format:** GNRL (0x4C524E47) and DX10 (0x30315844) magic parsing with Deflate decompression.
- **1-Click Header Downgrader:** Rewrites uint32 LE version at offset 4 from v7/v8 to v1 for legacy Archive2/B.A.E. compatibility.
- **148-Byte DDS Header Synthesizer:** Slices raw DirectX 10 texture chunks and prepends standard 128-byte DDS headers plus 20-byte DXT10 extensions.
- **NIF Mesh Block Auditor:** Traverses 36 Bethesda block types (BSLightingShaderProperty, NiNode, BSTriShape) to flag missing textures, broken collision nodes, and invalid rigid body parameters.
- **Federated Repository Spec (f76-repo-spec-v1):** Open decentralized manifest format for community mod repositories with SHA256 integrity verification.

## 3. Privacy-First Local Processing Model
All binary parsing, decompression, and model auditing executes client-side within browser WebAssembly memory buffers. Your proprietary game archives never leave your workstation. No analytics trackers or commercial pixels are deployed.
